r/WWEGames Rules, Discord, and Welcome! (and the question of 2K19 vs 2K20)

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 09:08 AM PDT

    Hello everyone!

Usually, we have a welcome post for new users with every yearly release but, obviously, there's no 2K21 this month. Instead, we're going to go over a few things.

First, a reminder that we have a discord!

Second, it's come to my attention that some users have been direct messaging the other mods with their issues. Not cool. If you have an issue, let us know through MODMAIL. Direct messages are subject to being ignored.

We're also going to go over the rules and clarify a few things regarding Match Card Monday and Self Promotion Saturday.

At the bottom of this post, you'll find the answers to 2K19 vs 2K20 if you're looking to buy one.

    SUBREDDIT RULES

YouTube videos of full matches/universe mode playthroughs/other lengthy gameplay videos are not allowed. The exception to this are videos highlighting Community Creations/PC mod content such as CAW entrances and attire previews. Full match videos featuring CAWs do not fall under this exception.

Shorter videos highlighting certain spots/features/bugs can be posted freely, but to avoid self promotion posts, we ask that they are either posted as gifs or via sites such like Streamable.

This subreddit is not for self-promotion. Please do not spam your channels/blogs to /r/WWEGames for clicks or viewers.

see: Self Promotion Saturday below for more info

Please do not post about buying, selling, trading or giving away Supercard/DLC codes or games.

No low-effort or low-quality screenshots or videos. Modern platforms now have capturing capabilities, use them. The exception to this is systems that don't have built-in capturing. However, you are still required to put some effort in for those. A picture of your tv from across the room with glare on the screen will definitely be removed.

Follow all the rules of Reddiquette, especially the witch hunt and piracy rules.

Guys, this a subreddit for wrestling video games. It's not difficult to behave. If you're an ass on the subreddit, you will be punished. The severity of your punishment is determined by what you do and say. If you call people names, you may get a warning or a week-long ban. If you do it constantly, it will be worse. We recently banned two users for threatening each other with gun violence. Seriously. Not okay, and a permanent ban. Individual moderators have full discretion here, so just be on your best behavior.

We're also adding a new rule regarding posting limits. It's been an unwritten rule for years, but it needs to be made official. There's no set limit, but use common sense. If you make a bunch of separate posts with match screenshots in a short period of time, they will be removed. Make a gallery. Use imgur.

If you have creations to post, there's a little more leeway. For example, if you make five posts that are different arenas or superstars or whatever, that's fine. But if you make five posts for the same creation, they will be removed.

But wait, there's more. We're also implementing a "No low-effort text posts" rule. Again, it's up to moderators discretion, but use common sense. If your post is just: "Here Comes the Pain is the best game." with nothing else, it will most likely be removed. Put some effort into your posts. Say why. Explain yourself. Give context.

MATCH CARD MONDAY (MCM) & SELF PROMOTION SATURDAY (SPS)

These both need some clarification, apparently.

MCM was made so that people could show off their cards and posters.

SPS was made so people could show off their channels and...well, promote themselves.

These are two completely separate things. Some users have been trying to circumvent this and post their Youtube channels on MCM.

From this point forward, if you even mention Youtube with your match card, the post will be removed. On Saturday's, a few people have been posting their card with a link in the comments; just make the post a link to your channel/video. The exception is if you're promoting an upcoming show and use a poster or card to do so, but anything promotion-related still needs to be Saturday-exclusive.

    WWE 2K19 vs 2K20

The age-old question that gets asked in some variation multiple times per week. I'll keep it simple:

2K19: Popular opinion is that this is the best option on current gen consoles. Servers are staying up until the release of 2K22. You can still access Community Creations on 2K19. Worth playing? Yes.

2K20: Opinions are split, but that's mainly because a lot of people gave up before all the patches were released. In its current state, the game is playable. The majority of crashes come from entrances. There are a lot of small glitches and bugs, but nothing that makes it unplayable. Worth playing? Yes, but only on sale is what the community said. For more info, check out this thread.

Pretty sure that's all for today. If you have any questions or concerns, please comment below. Happy gaming :P

Greatest storyline I've ever had in Universe Mode

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 07:45 AM PST

TL:DR Revamped the nWo for fun, ended up with the greatest storyline I've ever had in Universe Mode.

Chapter 1: In 2K19, I reformed the nWo with 3 members to start out with: Cena, McIntyre, and Ziggler. They would go on to dominate the entire RAW brand and obtain the WHC, and the World Tag Team Titles. Eventually, they recruited Seth Rollins, and he wasted NO time obtaining the United States Championship, which now meant that the nWo had RAW on LOCK.

After months of sheer dominance, the nWo's arrogance would lead to their downfall, as John Cena would go on to drop the World Heavyweight Championship. Meanwhile, Ziggler and McIntyre had also dropped their titles while Rollins was still pulling his weight with the U.S. Title. After many failed attempts to regain the gold, John Cena was betrayed and ousted from his own group. Drew McIntyre would then take over.

Chapter 2: With Drew McIntyre as the new leader of the nWo, changes were made almost immediately. Ziggler and Rollins would become the tag team of the group, Velveteen Dream was recruited to the faction, and would be pursuing the U.S. Title. Drew then began to set his focus on the WHC held by Randy Orton. Throughout the feud, Orton was constantly outnumbered by the nWo, and the constant beatdowns would eventually take their toll, resulting in Drew McIntyre obtaining the WHC. The other members would follow by collecting gold, and nWo was back on top yet again.

Chapter 3: Overconfidence would strike yet again for the New World Order, which led to Randy Orton regaining his championship in the midst of his epic long-standing feud with Drew McIntyre, despite all of the distractions from the nWo. Then, the unexpected would happen; Randy Orton would swerve the entire WWE Universe with a double-turn by siding with the nWo, and booting Drew McIntyre out in the process. To add insult to injury, McIntyre would be traded to SmackDown were he would have to start from the very bottom & claw his way back to the top of the mountain.

Chapter 4: Over a year later, Drew McIntyre would be traded back to RAW after a subpar performance on the blue brand. Meanwhile, Randy Orton was still reigning as the World Heavyweight Champion and demonstrating even greater leadership and dominance than the two previous leaders of the revamped nWo. Drew would go on a monster run, taking out everyone in his path, until he was once again in contention for the WHC. McIntyre would NOT be denied, and would ride the momentum into another championship reign. Dream, Rollins, and Ziggler would also proceed to drop their titles, which would eventually lead to a power struggle that culminated in the implosion of the entire group.
